Blinders privacy policy
Updated 26 October 2026 for v1.3.0.
What stays in your browser
Your settings, current priority, session timer and receipts are stored in Chrome's local extension storage. Optional Todoist and personal AI keys are stored only in this browser. Blinders does not sell personal data.
AI scoring through Blinders
By default, during a focus session your priority and the text of posts being scored pass through the Blinders server to TypeSafe, our AI provider. Page checks also send the page URL, title and a short text excerpt. We send text for scoring, not screenshots or the full page. The install welcome demo also sends your priority and its sample posts when you start a session.
The Blinders server processes this content in memory and does not intentionally log or retain priorities, post text, page titles or URLs. Our AI provider processes requests under its own privacy and retention terms. Infrastructure providers necessarily process connection information, including IP addresses; hosting access logs must be configured to avoid retaining scoring content.
Anonymous usage counters and limits
Scoring requests include a random installation ID and session ID. The server hashes the installation ID and records when it was first seen, when it first successfully scored a real feed item, how many scoring sessions and items it sees per day, and usage needed to enforce daily and short-term limits. The welcome demo does not count as real-feed activation. These IDs are not linked to an account. Installations inactive for 30 days are removed during daily counter maintenance. Today's session identifiers are cleared at the next daily reset.
Optional integrations
If you connect Todoist, the extension sends your Todoist token directly to Todoist to read matching tasks. A selected task becomes your priority and is sent for scoring. If you choose your own AI key in Advanced settings, scoring requests and that key go directly from the extension to TypeSafe instead of through the Blinders server. Your keys are never sent to the Blinders server.
Your controls
End a session to stop scoring. Todoist and your own AI key are optional. Clear these fields in settings to disconnect them. Uninstalling the extension removes its local data; server usage counters expire after inactivity. Site blocking is off by default and can be enabled for a session. Scoring is limited to text relevance and can be wrong.
